Colour

bWalletX is gold on black. Gold is the Bitcoin colour and the brand’s colour.

These are the tokens in bwalletx-site/styles.css. Use the variables, not hex values, in site code.

Token Value Use
--bg #000 Page ground
--ink #f4f1e8 Main text
--muted #a9a69c Secondary text
--dim #7c7a73 Quiet text, footers
--gold #f5b800 Primary gold: buttons, active states
--gold-hi #ffd24d Light gold: highlights, links
--gold-lo #eab300 Deep gold: gradient ends
--card-a #1b1d22 Card gradient top
--card-b #131418 Card gradient bottom
--edge #23252b Hairline borders
--grad linear-gradient(135deg, #ffd24d, #eab300) Gold fills
--glow gold ring, soft gold drop shadow, light inner top edge Gold buttons and the mark’s glow
--r 20px Corner radius

The logo’s own gradient (#FFE58A, #FFD24D, #C98F00) is on the Logo page.

The default ground is black. Cards sit on it in dark grey gradients with a thin edge. Gold is the accent, not the ground.

Don’t overdo yellow. Use gold where bWalletX uses it: the active tab, the primary button, the logo. An all-yellow palette is “too much yellow” for users’ eyes. Decided for bChatX, 8 Oct 2026.

Anything empty or default gets gold-and-black bAvatar art: empty avatars, profile banners, new profiles, live Space and livestream cards, chatroom and token-room cards, empty feeds. Never grey placeholders, letter tiles or purple accents. Decided 11 Oct 2026.

  • Seed the art from the thing’s own id (handle, ticker, room name) so each one is unique and stays the same.
  • Use the light shade over the art.
  • A person’s own uploaded picture still wins for their avatar.
  • Gold is for empty and default art. It is never a frame around real media (see Imagery).

Gold, not yellow overload. Empty states use gold art (avatars, banners, cards), but never large flat areas of yellow. Gold is an accent and a light; black or deep colour stays the ground. Decided 23 Oct 2026.

Campaign films may add a small set of deep accents for their scenes. These are used on /b-is-for-business:

Name Value
Dusk blue #1f4a78
Teal #134a5a
Royal blue #1f3b86
Amber #8f5418

They are scene colours for one campaign, not brand colours. Gold and black still lead.

Users can change their wallet’s look in Theme (App colours and Design your card). Gold stays the default. Decided 14 Oct 2026.

  • Offer a small curated palette or full themes, never a free colour picker.
  • A theme accent recolours all theme-gold UI, including bAvatars, default card art and the centre b. It never recolours users’ pictures, NFTs, or other brands’ and coins’ logos.
  • Keep the black base, readability and contrast checks.

Decided 16 Oct 2026. The same rules apply to the Pink, Blue and Yellow themes.

  • No dark cards on light. Balance cards, card backs, chips and panels are white or light, with black text and thin outlines.
  • Black on light. Text is always black on white: inputs, placeholders, the caret, chat bubbles. Hunt down white-on-white.
  • Buttons are white with black text and a thin outline, or solid black. No grey or coloured fills. Destructive actions are red text on white.
  • Card art is very light: modernist minimal originals or washed-out public-domain works. No copyrighted art.
  • The outline b is one unified path.
  • Pink, Blue and Yellow are full coloured paper: the whole background is the colour, with black ink. Not tints.
