Pots and subscriptions
A pot is money set aside for one purpose: rent, a project, a gift, a subscription. Each pot is its own account with its own keys, so its money never mixes with your everyday balance.
A subscription (or standing order) pays a fixed amount from a pot on a schedule: weekly, monthly, yearly.
Make a pot
Section titled “Make a pot”- Open Pots & Locks (the lock icon in the top bar) › Pots.
- Tap New pot and give it a name.
- bWalletX makes the pot’s own account with fresh keys.
- Move money into it, like sending to any of your accounts.
Back up a pot like any account. Its keys come from your wallet, so restoring your recovery words brings your pots back.
Add a subscription
Section titled “Add a subscription”- Open a pot and add a subscription.
- Choose who to pay: a person by paymail or
$handle, or one of our services. - Set the amount in dollars, how often, and an optional memo.
- Save.
When a payment is due, the wallet pays it from that pot the next time it opens, and records it. If payments were missed while the wallet was closed, it catches up a few at once; if more are owed, it asks you first.
Some of our services give you a subscribe link. Opening it fills in the service, amount and period for you. You still choose the pot and confirm.
See and change subscriptions
Section titled “See and change subscriptions”Pots & Locks › Subscriptions lists every subscription: who it pays, how much, how often, which pot pays it, the next payment and its status.
- Pause / Resume: stop payments for a while.
- Cancel: stop for good.
Pausing and cancelling only change your own wallet’s schedule. Nobody can take money from a pot. Every payment is made by your wallet.
Stop a pot
Section titled “Stop a pot”Stop this pot cancels its subscriptions. Move any money left back to your main account.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- Payments go out when the wallet opens. If the wallet stays closed on the day, the payment goes out the next time you open it.
- Pot payments also respect Stop all and any daily cap you’ve set.
- Pots hold BSV. Token pots aren’t built yet.
