Locks
Lock BSV on the Bitcoin SV chain until a date you choose, or have it paid back to you a little at a time. Tap the lock in the top bar.
How a lock works
Section titled “How a lock works”A lock is a normal BSV output with a small contract attached. The contract says two things: these coins can only be spent by your key, and only in a transaction the network won’t accept before a certain block height. Blocks come about every ten minutes, so a height is roughly a date.
Every miner enforces the rule. There is no switch at bWalletX that releases a lock early, and no support process that can.
Two kinds
Section titled “Two kinds”- One unlock date: the whole amount opens at one block height.
- Gradual payouts: the amount is split into pieces, each locked to a later height (daily, weekly, monthly). You can size payouts in dollars, for example $10 a day.
Start small
Section titled “Start small”Locking is new. Lock small amounts first. The app asks again if you try to lock more than 0.01 BSV.
Without bWalletX
Section titled “Without bWalletX”Your locked coins sit at your own key, so you never need our server to claim them. Today, claiming without bWalletX needs a developer: the script is the Hodlocker contract, described at bwalletx.com/open-source.
Status
Section titled “Status”- ✓ Single-date and gradual locks (since 5.1.85)
- ✓ Claimable from your own keys, without our server
- ◻ A step-by-step claim tool that works without bWalletX
