Settings and security
bWalletX is non-custodial: your keys are made on your device and stay there. These settings control how the wallet guards them on that device.
Password
Section titled “Password”You choose a password when you set up the wallet. It encrypts your keys on this device.
- Change it: Settings › Change password.
- Strong passwords: the wallet can generate one for you. Keep it in a password manager.
- Forgot it? Restore from your recovery words. That sets a new password (Back up and restore).
The password protects this device only. Your recovery words are what control the money.
Face ID and fingerprint
Section titled “Face ID and fingerprint”On iPhone and Android you can unlock with Face ID or your fingerprint instead of typing the password each time.
Auto-lock
Section titled “Auto-lock”bWalletX is a social app as much as a wallet: chat, Spaces and the feed stay open while you use them. So auto-lock is set to Never by default. You can choose a timer in Settings › Auto-lock if you prefer, and Lock Wallet locks it straight away.
Signing or paying still needs your tap, even when the wallet is unlocked.
Approving requests
Section titled “Approving requests”Nothing is signed or paid without you. When an app or website asks, bWalletX shows one sheet listing everything the request asks for. You approve it once, or decline.
One-click pay
Section titled “One-click pay”For small, everyday actions (tips, small locks), you can skip the confirm step:
- Go to Settings › Payments › One-click pay and switch it on.
- Set your limit per action, in dollars.
Only actions at or under your limit go through without a prompt. There’s also a per-minute cap, so a runaway app can’t drain you with many small payments. Anything above the limit always asks.
USB security key
Section titled “USB security key”You can register a USB security key (a FIDO key) as an extra lock. Then sensitive actions also need the key.
- Settings › USB Security Key › Turn on.
- Insert your key and follow the prompts.
- Add a second key as a spare: Add another USB key.
Lost a key? Use Lost a key? Rotate while you still have the other one. Without any key, a USB-locked action can’t go ahead (USB key needed).
Backups
Section titled “Backups”Settings › Wallet Backup shows where your wallet’s records are kept and lets you back up now. Your recovery words remain the master key. The backup keeps the wallet’s own records (labels, history, which outputs are which) so a restore is quicker and complete.
Websites and paired computers
Section titled “Websites and paired computers”- Settings › Websites lists sites that may ask your wallet to pay or sign. Remove one to cut it off.
- Settings › Paired computers & websites lists anything paired by QR code. Remove it the same way.
Danger zone
Section titled “Danger zone”- Download Keys / Export as QR Code shows your private keys. Only do this on a device you trust, never in front of anyone, and never paste them into a website.
- Delete Account removes the wallet from this device.
- Delete account data removes your paymail, profile and messages from our servers.
